Frequently Asked Questions

Dungeons and Dragons

  • Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game where you get to create your own character and embark on an adventure with your friends.

It’s one part collaborative storytelling, one part improvisation, and a pinch of luck, where everyone takes on the role of their hero in a fantasy world full of magic, monsters, and mysteries.Description text goes here

  • In Dungeons and Dragons, dice are used to determine the consequences of your actions and to add an element of chance to the game. When you attempt to do something with a chance of failure, you roll a twenty sided die to determine the success or failure of that action. The dungeon master will let you know how and what to roll

  • The ‘Dungeon Master’ (DM) is the person who runs the game. They will play the role of all the non-player characters, from townsfolk to enemies.

The DM will also decide the outcome of actions based on your rolls and the rules. They also describe the world and environment as you explore it!

  • Dungeons and Dragons in TV and movies definitely likes to dial up and exaggerate the commitment required.

While you are welcome put on voices or arrive in robes, it’s definitely not expected or necessary. You will be with your friends so you decide how deep into character you go.

The Session

  • We provide everything you need to jump straight into telling your story.

    This includes the following:

    • Pre-made Character Sheets

    • Miniatures

    • Dice

    • Pens + Paper

    • Maps

    • Ambient Audio

    • Simplified Spell Cards

Depending on the venue, it also includes a free drink!

  • The price is $40 per person.

This includes the fee for venue hire that we arrange ahead of time, and a free drink.

  • We aim to conclude the one shot within a four hour window, but this can vary based on the player actions.

If your group is thoroughly enjoying the roleplay, or has some unlucky dice rolls it can last slightly longer.

If you have plans immediately after your booking, discuss it with your Dungeon Master and they will do their best to finish on time.

  • You sure can!

We are open to travelling and running sessions where requested, but to ensure you have the best experience we need a table large enough for everyone to sit at, and a quiet enough environment for conversation to be heard.

  • Theoretically, Dungeons and Dragons can be played with any number of people, however we believe it is best experienced in a group of 3-5 people.
